Gao Xiqing graduated from Duke Law in 1986 and was the first Chinese citizen to pass the NY State Bar exam before becoming one of the world's most powerful sovereign-wealth fund managers. For 7 years he was vice chairman, president and chief investment officer of China Investment Corporation, China's sovereign wealth fund. He has served on the Duke Board of Trustees since 2008.
